Little Sticks of The Bronx, Vol. I (1943)

In 1943 Bronx, Gio Bastone is an honest tailor, a first-generation immigrant doing everything he can to keep his shop–and his family– afloat during wartime scarcity. Across the Pacific, Gio’s son Dickie fights to stay alive in the jungles of Guam, clinging to thoughts of home as the war grinds on.

When an old neighborhood friend arrives with a quiet proposal, Gio is forced to choose between pride and survival.  What begins as a small compromise, sets in motion a chain of events that will reshape his family’s fate for the next thirty years.

Little Sticks of The Bronx, Volume I is the opening chapter of a four-part saga about family, loyalty, and the price paid when good men are pushed too far.
