Arturo Viale Author Bio
Arturo Viale was born and raised in The Bronx. He attended parochial schools from first grade through college, eventually earning a degree in biology. He took what he thought would be a one-year hiatus teaching special education in the South Bronx.
He stayed for ten years.
During that time, he worked with children with learning disabilities, emotional handicaps and autism. That decade profoundly shaped how he understands inner-city character and psychology. While teaching, he began working with computers and graphic design, starting on a small Macintosh in 1984. That led to a 35+ year career as a graphic artist.
In 2016, he published his first book, Personal Debt. Since then, he has written multiple crime dramas and character-driven stories including The Rat, The First Ten Pages, Shared Risk, Identical Strangers, and the multi-volume Little Sticks of the Bronx series. While fictional, these stories draw heavily from real environments, real people, and real psychological consequences he witnessed growing up and teaching in the Bronx.
All of these projects were originally written as screenplays. He converted them to prose and published them here as short novellas. These $1.99 one-day-reads are simply to create a following. He will continue to pursue their potential as film and limited series adaptations.
