The First Ten Pages
The First Ten Pages
In 1985, on a Bronx block where everyone's business is everyone's business, failed screenwriter Bobby Langiulli is running out of chances. He’s in his mid-thirties, with six unsold scripts, and still living above the same candy store where the local numbers action hums along behind the counter — Bobby decides to gamble on the one story he's never dared to tell: his father's.
Tony Langiulli vanished nine years ago, swallowed up by rumors of debts, gangsters, and a girl he met at the track. Bobby writes it all down — names barely disguised, a lifetime’s worth of secrets — and slips the first ten pages to a producer who just might bite.
What he doesn't expect is how fast a Bronx rumor travels once it starts. Soon a mob boss, a state senator, and half the block are watching him — and Bobby's about to learn that in this neighborhood... nothing stays quiet for long.
